This offseason, Citizens' Voice photographer Chris Dolan was able to spend a day with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward and Shavertown native Patrick McGrath.
Dolan arrived at the Toyota SportsPlex on Coal Street practice facility with McGrath and documented the Lake-Lehman alum's on- and off-ice workouts.
In several of these photos you'll notice McGrath working with Penguins' strength coach Doug Davidson, who helped the now 22-year-old forward get stronger without losing any speed.
McGrath appeared in 19 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season. He was selected as the Fan Favorite by both the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers (where he spent the early part of last season) and the Penguins. He finished with one assist and 66 penalty minutes in the AHL.
McGrath, who is Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's main enforcer while Tom Sestito is in Pittsburgh, is currently battling for a bottom-six role.
